Republic Day

Republic Day is celebrated on 26th of January, every year.

Republic Day is celebrated because on this day the Constitution of India came into force in 1950. Constitution means the Supreme law of the nation.

It is celebrated everywhere in India. Every school organizes flag hoisting event on this day. Children come to school for the flag hoisting, attend the ceremony, and go back home with pride inside heart for the nation India.

Schools arrange speech competitions, drama, and parades on this day. Students who participate in this event, they do practice many days before the event. On this day everyone remembers our freedom fighters, sing patriotic songs, and is overwhelmed with everything. We show respect towards the flag, our freedom and freedom fighters.

But, after the day is over, we will find flags lying everywhere. Roads, city streets, school ground, and even the buildings garden. People just throw all the flags here and there after the day. It shows that we have respect for the flag only for that particular day and not after that.

It looks so dirty all around. Seeing our national flag, our pride, lying on the road, and people smashing it with their legs, just walk over them, it hurts to see such scenario.

So I would request not to do it. Either you show it respect all the way your life, or do not show it respect at all. Not even for the particular day, whether it be an Independence Day (15th August)  or it be a Republic Day (26th January).

Our motherland will not feel bad if any one or few Indians do not respect it. SHE has many more people to respect her,.

So please do not insult our motherland. Keep respect in our flag. Do not throw it in the garbage.

Humble request from an Indian citizen. Jai Hind.
